This is quiet huge considering this is the second Biennale ever to be conjured in the Caraibes after Cuba. The festival which takes place 22 Novembre- 15 January is Under the sponsorship of the infamous Senegalese sculptor Ousmane Sow (Sow fought for his Beaux Arts dream and became a kinesitherapist, yet is one of most acclaimed contemporary sculptor whose work was commissioned from Whitney NYC to Francois Mitterand ).
The festival will also celebrate the birth of ever remembered Aimee Cesar whose literary works on négritude and anticolonialism marked a new era for whole mankind. Also this might be a good time to learn the Works of Patrick Chamoiseau(Prix Goncourt 92) who also will be present in the festival.
Biennale’s theme being ‘ On the resonance of the literary outcry in the visual arts’ one can see these Works of art throughout several pavilions all through the country mainly in Fort de France, Saint Pierre and Trois Îlets.
